You’ve gotten your client a Temporary Residence Visa or eTA, but now what? Or maybe you have a client from the USA who plans to travel to Canada temporarily for business or work, studying, or a visit, and they want your advice.
This seminar is designed to help RCIC’s and Legal Counsel adequately prepare their clients for arrival at the Port of Entry. The seminar will help you better understand what kind of documentation and information your clients need to have ready when they enter, how to best avoid problems and how to ensure that their journey is smooth. We'll look at:
- typical situations that can cause delays,
- misunderstandings
- refusal of entry into Canada
- what their options are when things go wrong.

I have gained valuable expertise, after over 12 years with the Canadian Government, working in the immigration system. My experience stems from working for over 4 years as a Border Services Officer with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), in both Vancouver and Ottawa, mainly in immigration. I then worked overseas as an immigration/visa officer and supervisor for Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) at Canadian Embassies, High Commissions, and Consulates located in several countries in Central America, South America, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and of course also at National Headquarters in Canada, as a program advisor. During my career, I worked extensively on applications and files of all types, and from all of the various immigration programs; Temporary, Permanent, Special relief and enforcement, Citizenship, and more. I've made decisions on thousands of applications from all over the world, interviewed hundreds of applicants, and participated in and supervised specific immigration programs and projects.
